YOU ARE MY PACK

Dear Mum & Dad,

I m so very happy that you came home to me!   Uncle Norm was a fun guy and Aunt Nancy gave me lots of love, and let me sleep on her side of the bed; but no one can love me like my family. You are my pack.

Your obedient and faithful servant,

Toshu

PS - I  think you should take me along on your next trip to Florida. I'd make a great beach dog!  But, if not, call Uncle Norm & Aunt Nancy to come. They re my second favorite people in this whole wide world.

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

Dear Mum & Dad,

It’s official. The weather in Silver Springs is schizophrenic - Yesterday a balmy 73 but this morning it is only 19 degrees outside! Auntie Nancy took me walking without putting a coat on me! What was she thinking?

Doesn’t she realize that I am a very delicate flower and quite the special girly-girl?  Plus, adding insult-to- injury, she made me wait until after 9 o’clock for my morning walk! She kept telling me, “Oh Baby its cold outside.”  Doesn’t she realize how important my schedule is to me? It is becoming clear to me these new people do not know how to care for a diva.  They have tried in their own bumbling Midwestern ways, but they are not you. Please hurry home and bring coats….and a hats….and scarfs because….Baby it’s cold outside!

Your loving and devoted pooch,
Toshu

ROAD TRIP

Dear Mum & Dad,

I hope you are enjoying Florida and not missing me too much. I sure do miss you, but Aunt Nancy & Uncle Norm try every day to keep me happy.  On Saturday we went to my Dog Park to play with friends.  Only Gus and Miles came though, so it was a small crowd.  I was the only one who would chase the ball! I ran and ran until I was so tired I just lay down and rolled over in the snow. Lucky for me I got in that roll on Saturday because today the snow is almost gone. The weather has warmed and now the robins are showing up to make my walks more interesting!

Yesterday we went on an adventure to Baltimore to see people friends. They did not have a dog for me to play with, but they all thought I was beautiful and gave me lots of extra rubs and praise. I was a happy girl!  I got to be the Watch Dog while the humans  went out to lunch! Next, Uncle Norm took us on as long drive so we could visit Delaware. It was pretty boring, but don’t tell Uncle Norm. He thinks he was giving us a treat.

Aunt Nancy told me this morning that you’ll be home in only five more days. I gave her a big tail wag. She and Uncle Norm are good folk, but there’s no place like home….and no people like your own people.

I love you.

It's All about Toshu !

Dear Mum & Dad

It's still cold here, but do not worry because when we go walking Aunt Nancy marks a fast pace so we warm up before we're done. Today I'm having a great day!  Aunt Nancy & Uncle Norm  must have felt bad about leaving me home yesterday because today they are with me and everything is "all about Toshu."  I guess wearing my sad face last night must have worked.

Now if I can just get them to let loose with a few more treats....

your loving Toshu

Working My Sad Face

Dear Mum & Dad,
Today was another fun snow day for me. I got to go on two nice long tromps!  No new snow fell during the night, but there must be at least 6 or 7 inches on the ground and deep piles where the snowplow pushed it into hills. Those are my favorites! One  thing I do not like about the roads though is the nasty, salty ice. It hurts my feet. When I began to limp Uncle Norm checked my foot and then told me to walk in the snow, not on the road. That worked much better.

I like it on the days Aunt Nancy & Uncle Norm are here with me, but they already warned me that tomorrow they will be down in the city all day long and I will be solo Toshu. : (    So, I'm going to work the guilt factor and just sit on the stairs and wear my sad face.....maybe it will get me some extra treats tonight?

I miss you.

Your loving dog,
Toshu

SNOW

Dear Mama & Papa

An amazing thing happened in the night. Snow!  Lots of it!  I was out for my first romp by seven o’clock and later Aunt Nancy took me to the park to chase my orange ball.  Then I  was the “supervisor” while she and Uncle Norm shoveled all that pretty snow off the driveway. They promised to take me out to play again later, but right now they are resting. I think I wore them out!

Yesterday was a sad day for me. I missed you so much. Aunt Nancy and Uncle Norm went into the city and left me home all alone. The house got quiet. I just curled up on my pad, wore my sad face and took a long nap. But, when they came home they gave me an extra treat and lots of extra loves, so I guess it was an okay day after all. Aunt Nancy promised me she won’t leave me home alone every day.

I hope Florida is nice and warm and you don’t have any snow to shovel. I want ALL the snow to come to our house!

You loving dog,

Toshu

TRAINING MY NEW PEOPLE

Dear Eileen & Mike,

I miss you already!  I felt very sad when I saw you load the car last night and heard you drive away without me.  I put my sad face on and laid my head on Aunt Nancy's knee.  She promised me that you'd come back soon and that she, Uncle Norm and I would have a great time together while you were gone.  Next, Nancy brought my bed upstairs and fixed the blankets just right so I could sleep on your bed. She told me to jump up and I amazed both her and Uncle Norm when I leaped easily atop my blankets in a single bound. And OHHHHHHHH, NIRVANA!  Right out of the dryer my blankies were so warm and snuggly! I curled around three times, plopped down and was asleep in a minute.

This morning I took Aunt Nancy out and showed her around our neighborhood. Later today I will train them both in how to "throw my ball."  Don't worry about me while you're gone. You just have a wonderful holiday. I think these new people are going to work out.

Your faithful dog,
Toshu
